Green Up Milton: A Call to Action for a Cleaner, Greener Community
Proper waste disposal is crucial in protecting the natural beauty of Milton and combating the negative impact of littering on our local environment. We are fortunate to be surrounded by incredible green spaces like the Blue Hills Reservation and the Neponset River Watershed. Unfortunately, trash threatens these fragile ecosystems by clogging drains, cluttering tree limbs, polluting waterways, and leaching harmful chemicals into our soil, water, and air. It also endangers wildlife by trapping or entangling animals.
This Spring, we’re coming together to celebrate Earth Day with a weekend full of sustainable actions and activities! In partnership with the Milton Department of Public Works (DPW), Sustainable Milton is proud to host Green Up Milton 2025.
Who can join?
Everyone is invited! Schools, sports teams, neighborhood associations, town clubs, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, churches, temples, and especially individuals are encouraged to participate. It’s an opportunity to get outside, help clean up our town, and make a real difference in keeping Milton beautiful.
How to participate?
- Gather your group (or come on your own!)
- Choose a location that needs some attention
- Pick a day and time that works best for you during Green Up Milton weekend
- It’s that simple!
Get Involved & Earn Community Service Hours!
In addition to the cleanup, there will be other activities to support local community groups. Look out for a Shop Local event, the Women’s Clothing Swap, and more!
Sign up coming soon! Stay tuned for the registration link, and reach out to info@sustainablemilton.org for any questions or if you’re interested in helping to organize the event.
