Green Up Milton Weekend

GREEN UP MILTON

May 1-3, 2026

As spring sun and rains arrive and warmer days begin to melt away the last traces of winter, something else appears along Milton’s roadsides, parks, and waterways—the litter that has been hidden beneath the snow.

Plastic bottles, food wrappers, bags, and other debris accumulate over the winter months, blown from cars, waste bins, trucks, and yards. Once exposed, this litter doesn’t just clutter our neighborhoods—it harms the environment. It clogs storm drains, tangles in tree limbs, and pollutes our waterways, allowing harmful chemicals to leach into the soil, water, and air. Wildlife are also at risk, as animals can become trapped, entangled, or sick from ingesting dangerous materials.

But there is good news: together, we can make a difference!

This spring, residents are invited to roll up their sleeves and help restore Milton’s natural beauty during Green Up Milton 2026, a community-wide cleanup effort organized by Sustainable Milton in partnership with the Milton Department of Public Works (DPW).

Taking place the first weekend of May, Green Up Milton encourages residents, families, students, and community groups to get outside, enjoy the fresh spring air, and help remove litter from roadsides, parks, and waterways throughout town.

Community cleanups like this do more than beautify our neighborhoods. They help protect local ecosystems, prevent pollution from reaching our waterways, and foster a sense of shared stewardship for the places we live, work, and play.

Every bag of litter collected makes a difference. Whether you spend an hour cleaning up your street, gathering neighbors to tackle a local park, or join one of the organized cleanup sites, your effort helps create a cleaner, healthier Milton.

As the season of renewal begins, Green Up Milton is a chance for the entire community to come together and care for the environment we all share.

Mark your calendar for the first weekend of May and be part of the effort to make Milton shine this spring.

On this form you will tell us your GREEN UP Team name (if you have one, not required), how many people are in your team, designate a contact person, tell us where you will be cleaning up, and finally where to collect your special GREEN UP bags on Monday May 4th!
