OPT UP FOR 100% GREEN ENERGY

The new electricity rates for Milton's CEA program from November 2024 through December 2027 have been finalized!

Electricity prices have increased significantly in MA since 2022, but the CEA program protected Milton residents from that with a fixed rate from November 2021-2024.

The regional costs are now catching up to us, but all of the new CEA options are still LESS than the Eversource Basic rate. So you can still Opt up to 100% Green for less than neighboring towns are paying. .

Also, the price for 100% GREEN has increased less than a penny, so the premium to opt up is much smaller than before! â€‹â€‹

CLIMATE ACTION COMMITTEE

The Climate Action Planning Committee is excited to kick off its second 12-month term with the addition of eight new members: Dr. Stephen Popkin, Eric Miller, Matt Panucci, S. Kyle Johnson, Dr. Fiona Jevon, Anna Morgan-Barsamian, and Kim Johnson. We’re thrilled about the expertise and fresh energy they bring to our efforts!

This fall, the committee is focused on expanding its research to develop a comprehensive draft of goals and actions sufficient to meet the state's emissions reduction and climate resilience targets.

To this end, we’ve launched (or are in the process of forming) working groups focused on the following key areas: transportation, buildings, fugitive emissions, waste management, natural land conservation, heat waves, droughts, storms/wind damage, flooding, wildfire, and grid resilience/energy security. If you have relevant expertise and/or interest in any of these topics, we welcome your input or participation!
