In celebration of Spring, the Milton Department of Public Works (DPW) and Sustainable Milton will be again hosting GREEN UP Milton this year during the weekend of May 3rd-5th, 2024! 

All town groups are encouraged to participate including schools, sports teams, neighborhood associations, town clubs, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, churches and temples, and any small group or any individual that wishes to join in on this refreshing spring event! Gather your group, pick a location, pick a time/day during the GREEN UP Milton weekend! This is an opportunity to clean up areas around town to maintain Milton’s beauty.

GREEN UP Milton is important also to promote proper disposal practices and to help combat the effects littering has on our local environment. We are fortunate to be surrounded by such special green spaces like the Blue Hills Reservation and the Neponset River Watershed. Our trash negatively affects these fragile ecosystems and the diversity of their inhabitants - clogging drainage, cluttering tree limbs, waterways, polluting our soil, water, and air with chemicals and toxins, and trapping or entangling animals.
 

Milton Town Hall will provide green garbage bags, recycling bags, and work gloves. These supplies can be picked up starting Monday April 22nd, 2024 at Milton Town Hall (Hours: Mon-Thurs 8 am-4pm, Fri 8am - 1:30PM), The Milton Public Library Book Shop (Saturday Hours 10am - 2pm), or at Green Fair 2024, where Town Hall & DPW will have a table (Saturday May 4th, 11 am - 3 pm).

DPW staff will complete the cleanup by collecting all garbage/recycling bags/large debris at designated pickup locations from your sign-up form by MONDAY May 6th. Please be as specific as possible with your locations!
